Ripple is broadening its institutional financial services footprint by unlocking access to a massive decentralized derivatives ecosystem. Through its institutional suite, Ripple Prime RWA perpetuals are now available to corporate clients, allowing them to gain exposure to real-world asset derivatives settled around the clock across global asset classes.

According to an announcement distributed via social channels, the service provides connectivity to more than 100 derivative markets spanning equities, exchange-traded funds, and raw commodities. The liquidity access is powered through integration with Hyperliquid's specialized infrastructure, tapping into an underlying real-world asset perpetuals market estimated at roughly $9 billion in transaction volume.

The initiative follows Ripple's earlier launch of crypto perpetuals in February, marking an aggressive transition into direct competition with traditional prime brokerages. By leveraging decentralized order books and tokenized collateral, institutional investors can hedge positions and deploy capital outside of conventional exchange trading hours.

Market participants view this move as a critical step in standardizing on-chain institutional prime services, though cross-jurisdictional compliance and counterparty margin requirements remain key regulatory focus areas. Observers will be monitoring trading volume metrics and institutional adoption rates across the newly supported asset pairs in the coming quarters.

Key takeaways

  • Ripple Prime now supports RWA perpetuals covering equities, commodities, and ETFs.
  • The expansion connects institutions to over 100 derivative markets via Hyperliquid.
  • The service taps into a $9 billion tokenized derivatives ecosystem with 24/7 access.
